1. Frinendship / good and bad features of character /
Everybody has friends, because every person needs communication and
contacts. But people are unique creatures of nature, all of them have their own
habits, opinions, judgments which differ from others. That's why it's hard to
find common in interests.
Friendship can be compared to a tree. Its seed should find good soil and under good conditions it will grow into a tree. As the years go by the tree stands firmer and firmer on the ground. And if it's strong enough, it will survive all the storms and winds.
I believe that there's no perfect friend as well as there is no perfect person. But there are some features of character, which I appreciate in people and which I hate in them.
First of all one of the most important qualities in people is the ability to keep secrets. There are problems sometimes that you can't share even with your parents, but only with your friends. So I would like my friends to keep silent about my secrets.
One of the most important ideas in the story of "The Happy Prince" is the friendship between the swallow and the prince. It was an honest and great company. In this case, we can say that their friendship was dominated by mutual love, respect, and support. It was pure and great company.

I have never liked books since my
childhood. They were all boring for me and I hated reading them. I remember my
sister giving me ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and kindly asking me to read it but I
didn’t. Now I love seldom books and I haven’t read those books twice or thrice
as other people usually do. My favourite book is the one where the author is
deeply in love with each reader. The Bible—everyone’s guide to infinite life—is
the very book I like and the very book I have read more than thrice. Why is the
Bible my favourite book? Because it teaches me to be the best version of myself,
guides me through every single ordeal or hardship and makes me live.
‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they
will see God’ Matthew 5:8 With this sentence the Bible shows us that a person
should have a pure heart to have the opportunity to see God. I want to have
such a heart. Reading the Bible you understand what’s it like to be a human.
The err is for humans but the Bible says NO, you can be better today and
perfect tomorrow. You must understand that the words in the Bible were written
by God and those words have a great influence on your daily life. By God’s word
the Sun rises every morning, planets never get out of their orbits and stars
shine each night. But how do we treat His word?
The Bible guides me at numerous
crossroads in my life. Eventually, many of them can be really tough to go alone.
That’s why I never lose my hope in God because He is with me. Sometimes people
want to be free from their parents and do what their hearts want. The same with
God. When we want to do something without Him and be independent we close our
ears to His words. God will never step on your way to persuade you not to do
something. He gave you free will. Do what you want but in the end you will reap
what you sow. That’s why I ask Him to show me the best to choose because what
He wants for me is kind, pleasant and perfect.
The Bible makes me live further. It is
my source of hope and belief. Sometimes when I am alone I think about what
would be with me if there wasn’t God. I wouldn’t be, either. In my point of
view, no one will stay with you till the end of the world except God. Even your
parents, husband or wife, sisters or brothers will leave you. As we are people
it is normal to do this to someone. Because our nature is not flawless from the
beginning. Only God with His perfect nature won’t hurt you, leave you or
deceive you. ‘I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.’ Matthew
28:20
In a word reading the Bible is like
putting wings on your back so you can join God as soon as possible. While
reading it you understand how sinful you are and how God had mercy on you by sending His only son—Jesus Christ—
as a sacrifice instead of you. God sent His son who is also God to be a human,
live as a human and give us His life as a human. Just imagine yourself being a
god and then leaving your glory in the sky for a paltry
person as I am. Are we worthy to be His sons?
Rebeka, Karine, Liana/ Comparison with The Happy Prince, What was common?/
Seven virtues are the generalization of the main positive qualities of human character in Western Christianity. The four cardinal virtues (courage, temperance, justice, prudence) are the main virtues of ancient ethics, first identified by Aeschylus (6th-5th centuries BC) and later incorporated into the ancient tradition by Plato ( 5th-4th centuries BC), by Aristotle (4th century BC) and the Stoics. Augustine the Blessed (4th-5th centuries) added to them three more theological virtues: hope, faith, love, theories about which were developed by Eastern Christians.
Prudentia (Latin: Prudentia)/ Courage (Latin: Fortitudo)/ Justice (Latin: Justitia)/ Temperance (Latin: Temperantia) / Faith (Latin: Fides) / Hope (Latin: Spes) / Love (Latin: Caritas)
Later another list of virtues appeared, made up of the opposites of the seven cardinal sins;
Virginity (Latin: Castitas)/ Temperance (Latin: Temperantia)/ Love (Latin: Caritas)/ Effort (Latin: Industria) / Patience (Latin: Patientia) / Kindness (Latin: Humanitas) / Humility (Latin: Humilitas)
4.Modigliani
There are many famous artists in the world.I singled out one of them Modigliani. His pictures and personal life have interesting stories. His pictures are unique and different. He mainly depicts women in his paintings, where women’s eyes are missing . Modigliani’s film is being released in Modigliani’s honor . The plot of that film is based on Modigliani’s real life story. The film is a romantic genre, but it also includes drama. The last part of the film is especially impressive. It concludes with the song Ave Maria .

5. The Happy Prince / self-sacrifice/ devotion of an impersonal degree/ Do the pros and cons predominate?
"The Happy Prince" is apparently an imaginative fairy-tale. It tells about unbelievable and supernatural incidents. It is an old form of writing stories which is not appreciated now-a-days. Yet the author has combined modern theme with an ancient form. Oscar Wild was a sensible writer conscious of present values and conditions of the Victorian age. "The Happy Prince" is the story of a typical ruler who lived a life of luxury and happiness. The story tells us in detail how the poor live in dark and narrow houses. They do not even get enough to make their both ends meet. We also come to know that Jews are fond of money and gold. The decision of the mayor of the city to melt the statue of the Happy Prince and make his own indicates jealousy and craze for fame and popularity in that society. Although the story is unreal, yet the situations given in it apply perfectly to the conditions prevailing in that society. So, it has been rightly commented that these stories were written to mirror modern life in a form remote from reality. However, the story teaches a good moral lesson to the readers.

6. Charity
Charity is a selfless act of kindness that has the power to transform lives. Acts of charity have a profound impact on both giver and the receiver. Charity not only benefits the recipients but also brings immense satisfaction and fulfilment to the giver. By helping others, we cultivate empathy, compassion and a sense of purpose. Charity has the power to inspire and motivate others to join the cause. It is a statement to the inherent goodness of humanity. Through acts of charity, we can create a positive impact, foster empathy, and build a more compassionate society.

8."The Happy Prince"
."The Happy Prince" is a poignant tale written by Oscar Wilde, first published in 1888. It tells the story of a statue, the Happy Prince, and a swallow who befriends him.The story begins with a description of a beautiful statue of a prince, adorned with gold leaf and precious stones, standing high above the city. The Happy Prince had lived a life of luxury and had been shielded from the harsh realities of the world. However, upon his death, his heart was found to be made of pure gold, and his outer shell was covered in gold leaf. A swallow, en route to Egypt for the winter, takes shelter beneath the statue and strikes up a conversation with the prince. The Happy Prince is deeply moved by the suffering he sees in the city below, and he implores the swallow to help alleviate it. The swallow, touched by the prince's compassion, agrees to do so. Together, they embark on a series of charitable deeds, with the Happy Prince directing the swallow to deliver his jewels and gold leaf to the poor and needy of the city.As the winter sets in, the swallow grows weak from the cold, but he remains loyal to the Happy Prince, refusing to leave his side. Eventually, the swallow dies, and the Happy Prince is left alone. However, his selfless acts of kindness have earned him a place in heaven, and he is praised by God's angels for his generosity and compassion. The story of the Happy Prince is a timeless tale of love, sacrifice, and the transformative power of empathy. It reminds us of the importance of caring for others and the fulfillment that comes from selfless giving. Through the friendship between the prince and the swallow, Wilde highlights the beauty of compassion and the eternal value of kindness.

Descriptive essays
Descriptive essays
A descriptive essay provides a detailed sensory description of something. Like narrative essays, they allow you to be more creative than most academic writing, but they are more tightly focused than narrative essays. You might describe a specific place or object, rather than telling a whole story.
Descriptive essays test your ability to use language creatively, making striking word choices to convey a memorable picture of what you’re describing.
A descriptive essay can be quite loosely structured, though it should usually begin by introducing the object of your description and end by drawing an overall picture of it. The important thing is to use careful word choices and figurative language to create an original description of your object.

On Sunday afternoons I like to spend my time in the garden behind my house. The garden is narrow but long, a corridor of green extending from the back of the house, and I sit on a lawn chair at the far end to read and relax. I am in my small peaceful paradise: the shade of the tree, the feel of the grass on my feet, the gentle activity of the fish in the pond beside me.
My cat crosses the garden nimbly and leaps onto the fence to survey it from above. From his perch he can watch over his little kingdom and keep an eye on the neighbours. He does this until the barking of next door’s dog scares him from his post and he bolts for the cat flap to govern from the safety of the kitchen.
With that, I am left alone with the fish, whose whole world is the pond by my feet. The fish explore the pond every day as if for the first time, prodding and inspecting every stone. I sometimes feel the same about sitting here in the garden; I know the place better than anyone, but whenever I return I still feel compelled to pay attention to all its details and novelties—a new bird perched in the tree, the growth of the grass, and the movement of the insects it shelters…
Sitting out in the garden, I feel serene. I feel at home. And yet I always feel there is more to discover. The bounds of my garden may be small, but there is a whole world contained within it, and it is one I will never get tired of inhabiting.
Narrative essays
Narrative essays
A narrative essay is one that tells a story. This is usually a story about a personal experience you had, but it may also be an imaginative exploration of something you have not experienced.
Narrative essays test your ability to build up a narrative in an engaging, well-structured way. They are much more personal and creative than other kinds of academic writing. Writing a personal statement for an application requires the same skills as a narrative essay.
A narrative essay isn’t strictly divided into introduction, body, and conclusion, but it should still begin by setting up the narrative and finish by expressing the point of the story—what you learned from your experience, or why it made an impression on you.
Mouse over the example below, a short narrative essay responding to the prompt “Write about an experience where you learned something about yourself,” to explore its structure.
Narrative essay example
Since elementary school, I have always favored subjects like science and math over the humanities. My instinct was always to think of these subjects as more solid and serious than classes like English. If there was no right answer, I thought, why bother? But recently I had an experience that taught me my academic interests are more flexible than I had thought: I took my first philosophy class.
Before I entered the classroom, I was skeptical. I waited outside with the other students and wondered what exactly philosophy would involve—I really had no idea. I imagined something pretty abstract: long, stilted conversations pondering the meaning of life. But what I got was something quite different.
A young man in jeans, Mr. Jones—“but you can call me Rob”—was far from the white-haired, buttoned-up old man I had half-expected. And rather than pulling us into pedantic arguments about obscure philosophical points, Rob engaged us on our level. To talk free will, we looked at our own choices. To talk ethics, we looked at dilemmas we had faced ourselves. By the end of class, I’d discovered that questions with no right answer can turn out to be the most interesting ones.
The experience has taught me to look at things a little more “philosophically”—and not just because it was a philosophy class! I learned that if I let go of my preconceptions, I can actually get a lot out of subjects I was previously dismissive of. The class taught me—in more ways than one—to look at things with an open mind.
Expository essays
Expository essays
An expository essay provides a clear, focused explanation of a topic. It doesn’t require an original argument, just a balanced and well-organized view of the topic.
Expository essays test your familiarity with a topic and your ability to organize and convey information. They are commonly assigned at high school or in exam questions at college level.
The introduction of an expository essay states your topic and provides some general background, the body presents the details, and the conclusion summarizes the information presented.
A typical body paragraph from an expository essay about the invention of the printing press is shown below. Mouse over it to learn more.
Expository essay example paragraph
The invention of the printing press in 1440 changed this situation dramatically. Johannes Gutenberg, who had worked as a goldsmith, used his knowledge of metals in the design of the press. He made his type from an alloy of lead, tin, and antimony, whose durability allowed for the reliable production of high-quality books. This new technology allowed texts to be reproduced and disseminated on a much larger scale than was previously possible. The Gutenberg Bible appeared in the 1450s, and a large number of printing presses sprang up across the continent in the following decades. Gutenberg’s invention rapidly transformed cultural production in Europe; among other things, it would lead to the Protestant Reformation.
Argumentative essays
Argumentative essays
An argumentative essay presents an extended, evidence-based argument. It requires a strong thesis statement—a clearly defined stance on your topic. Your aim is to convince the reader of your thesis using evidence (such as quotations) and analysis.
Argumentative essays test your ability to research and present your own position on a topic. This is the most common type of essay at college level—most papers you write will involve some kind of argumentation.
The essay is divided into an introduction, body, and conclusion:
- The introduction provides your topic and thesis statement
- The body presents your evidence and arguments
- The conclusion summarizes your argument and emphasizes its importance

A common frustration for teachers is students’ use of Wikipedia as a source in their writing. Its prevalence among students is not exaggerated; a survey found that the vast majority of the students surveyed used Wikipedia (Head & Eisenberg, 2010). An article in The Guardian stresses a common objection to its use: “a reliance on Wikipedia can discourage students from engaging with genuine academic writing” (Coomer, 2013). Teachers are clearly not mistaken in viewing Wikipedia usage as ubiquitous among their students; but the claim that it discourages engagement with academic sources requires further investigation. This point is treated as self-evident by many teachers, but Wikipedia itself explicitly encourages students to look into other sources. Its articles often provide references to academic publications and include warning notes where citations are missing; the site’s own guidelines for research make clear that it should be used as a starting point, emphasizing that users should always “read the references and check whether they really do support what the article says” (“Wikipedia:Researching with Wikipedia,” 2020). Indeed, for many students, Wikipedia is their first encounter with the concepts of citation and referencing. The use of Wikipedia therefore has a positive side that merits deeper consideration than it often receives.
The Four Main Types of Essay
Michel Eyquem de Montaigne (1533 — 1592) was a French Renaissance man, statesman , and writer. He was a court official and the inventor of essay-writing and was one of the most important philosophers of the French Renaissance.
In one of the chapters of "Experiments" it is said that a person's perception of evil and good is determined to a significant extent by his ideas about them. Montaigne proves that everyone's life is good or bad depending on what he thinks about it. In this regard, Montaigne meditates on wealth, fame, health, death. In the same way, he meditates on the possibilities of reason.
